I'm Amanda!

I may have only lived in the Houston Metro area for 24 years, but I have gotten my "Y'all" down like a native! I moved here immediately after graduating high school from my tiny town in Kansas. I wish I could say it was because I found an epic hair school to attend...that was not the case. Once I graduated and became licensed, I did go in search of people who were better and smarter than me and willing to teach me what they knew. To this day I live by that thought- both in and out of the salon.
I wear many hats in life and when I'm not in the salon actually DOING hair, some of what you can find me doing is writing our emails & social media, putting together marketing plans, cooking up a storm in my kitchen, or planning my next bit of travel. I currently reside part time on Hawai'i Island (the Big Island) and I also travel across the U.S. teaching classes to other stylists & salons, working at hair shows, plus training our newest educators as a National Trainer with Matrix (the haircare & color line we use in the salon). With all that going on PLUS my A.D.D., I find I'm getting much better at "just saying NO" to anything that I don't truly want to spend time on.
Besides, that frees me up so when I travel I can actually chill and catch up on the latest crime dramas, reality show nonsense, or crime novel or business book I might be reading. I'm also working on becoming an empty nester- I've got one son who recently joined the Navy (SO PROUD OF HIM!!) and the other who just graduated and is debating Navy or Air Force for enlistment. Suddenly we're a full military family around here!
One final thing you should know about me is that I'm an encourager, a cheerleader, and ever the optimist. When you sit in my chair, know that you'll be on the receiving end of all that as well... and it doesn't stop when you walk out the door either. Being the person in charge of our marketing, you will get positive messages, check ins, and encouragement just because.
